Segla
This image was chosen as the winning image in the landscape category at the British Photography Awards in 2020.
The image was taken on the island of Senja in Northern Norway. I arrived at Segla mountain the previous evening for sunset. It was a grey evening so I camped near the foot of the mountain to try again at sunrise. After a very windy evening I awoke to a grey sky, so I waited and hoped for a break in the clouds. Shortly after sunrise a few light rays broke through the clouds to light the peak and allow me to capture this scene.
